Puerto Diablo A Tale of Good and Evil eBook Irving Karchmar Reviews
I began reading Puerto Diablo with great anticipation after having already read Irving Karchmar's exquisite novel Master of the Jinn A Sufi Novel. I was not disappointed and I cannot recommend Puerto Diablo highly enough. Karchmar is a master of atmospheric scenes and succinct and powerful character descriptions. His writing is consummate and the story is imbued with a spiritual and moral trajectory that finds an unexpected resolution. The choices that the Black Priest faces are tough and a question of life and death for the community living in the harsh climate of a South American jungle. When a stranger arrives who knows no compassion the Black Priest pursues his convictions with courage and confidence. This is powerful writing that deserves a wide readership.
